The trainer
Welcome to my Arabic Immersion site!
My name is Abdelkarim, I was born in Avignon in the south of France.
Passionate about education and the Arabic language, I have been professionally and personally involved in this field for more than 15 years.
I didn't learn the Arabic language, but I was born into it. I acquired it naturally as any child would have acquired French or English in a family environment. My parents taught me love for the Arabic language very early on .
A native Arabic speaker, I have spent most of my life developing the best ways to teach and learn the Arabic language. I have always believed in the total immersion and pirating of traditional methods of teaching the Arabic language which unfortunately do not give results.
To learn Arabic, you have to listen, listen, listen ... then speak, speak, speak!
In 2006, Mouadh my eldest came into the world, then in 2007, Safiya joined him. As a parent passionate about the Arabic language, I absolutely wanted them to master literal Arabic but I didn't know how to go about it. Apart from speaking to them in dialectal Arabic and giving them cartoons in literal Arabic, I didn't know any other way to boost their level in Arabic! In addition, I did not want them to follow the traditional Arabic lessons that were provided by associations in my city.
I understood that the method of teaching them to read and write without understanding was not effective and would lead to nothing. Not to mention the fact that the desire to learn Arabic was not aroused at all in the children.

Everything changed in 2009, the day I took part in an Arabic language teacher training in Marseille provided by Arabic For All, a Saudi institute based in Riyadh specializing in Arabic language teaching, including one of the speakers. were one of the authors of the famous program “Alarabiya Bayna Yadayk”.
A training which will totally consolidate me in my vision of teaching the Arabic language and which will make me discover a revolutionary method which will upset my personal and professional projects.
This is the method of acquiring the Arabic language through the immersion and interaction of the famous Palestinian linguist Professor Abdellah Dannan, to whom, in 2015, he was awarded the prize for the best method of teaching of the Arabic language in schools.
A method that relies on a communicative approach to the Arabic language based on listening and interaction.
My family was my first field of experimentation.
Thanks to this method, my 5 children are perfectly Arabic speaking in addition to being French and dialect speaking (Moroccan). Until today, I communicate with them exclusively in literal Arabic and this from an early age.
Today, I am the educational manager of the Shatibi Atfal center in Garges les Gonesse, which hosts Arabic immersion sessions using the Arabic Immersion method for children in the Paris region. (Learn more)
The Arabic Immersion method is also based on my 10 years of experience as an Arabic language trainer and on my Master 2 (Bac + 5) in didactics of teaching the Arabic language.
